how do drug discount cards work

Drug discount cards let patients access lower cash prices at pharmacies by tapping into negotiated rates from pharmacy benefit managers or network aggregators. They’re not insurance and don’t count toward deductibles, but they can reduce out-of-pocket costs when a drug isn’t covered or is cheaper outside insurance. For PBM-side pricing mechanics, see RxPBM.
