On June 17, 2026, the FDA approved Norwich Pharmaceuticals’ abbreviated new drug application for generic baloxavir marboxil tablets, the first single-dose generic treatment for influenza. The approval, which comes before the 2026–2027 flu season, marks the first generic equivalent of Genentech’s Xofluza and aims to expand access and reduce costs.
