how do pharmacy discount cards work

Pharmacy discount cards are cash-pay coupons negotiated by card vendors or pharmacy benefit administrators with participating pharmacies. The card lowers the pharmacy’s cash price at the point of sale, but it usually can’t be combined with insurance and often won’t count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.
